Mary's primary clinical focus is eating disorders and disordered eating — including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, orthorexia, and ARFID. With a background in both psychology and nutrition, she understands that eating disorders are complex mental and physical health conditions, not choices or failures of willpower.
Treatment draws on intuitive eating principles and Health at Every Size (HAES) frameworks, with an emphasis on rebuilding trust with food, body, and self. Mary frequently coordinates with therapists and physicians to support a full-team recovery approach.

For clients managing chronic conditions where nutrition plays a significant role — including hypertension, hyperlipidemia, and type 2 diabetes — Mary provides evidence-based guidance that integrates with your existing medical care.
Uniquely, Mary applies intuitive eating principles even within medical nutrition contexts. The goal is never to add unnecessary restriction, but to make changes that are meaningful, sustainable, and that support your overall relationship with food — not just a lab value.

Many clients pay nothing out of pocket. Nutrition counseling is frequently covered as a preventative service — especially for metabolic conditions.
Blue Cross Blue Shield (including TennCare), Aetna, and Cigna are all accepted. Out-of-state plans typically transfer to in-state benefits. Many plans cover nutrition counseling at 100% as a preventative service.
Other insurance companies may reimburse for registered dietitian services. A Superbill with all necessary information will be provided, and you can pursue reimbursement directly with your insurance company.
Co-payments and fees are due at the time services are rendered. Cash, check, and credit card are all accepted. Contact Mary before your first appointment to clarify what your specific plan covers.
